Teen delinquent Mako (Junko Natsu) and her all-girl gang are affiliated to a yakuza clan through her brother. The girls spend their time hassling people on the streets and grooving at a night club. When Mako meets up with street punk Hideo (after some quick backseat sex and a draw on what looks like the world's most awesome weed) the pair quickly become an item. Unfortunately Hideo and his gang find themselves at war with Mako's yakuza clan leading to betrayal, violence and death. "Furyô shôjô Mako" is a fast-moving and hugely entertaining girl gang movie. Director Koreyoshi Kurahara doesn't waste anytime on subtlety as he rapidly moves from scene to scene while keeping all the emotion and plot developments in the realm of arch melodrama. The plentiful street fights are obviously staged but fun nevertheless and the disco nightclub scenes look good with some decent tunes rocking in the background. Junko Natsu doesn't really have anything too challenging to do, but what she does she does with charming effectiveness. This isn't the best Japanese girl gang or teen delinquent film but it is still a fine, kinetic, always-entertaining example of the two genres.… (mais)
