interesting idea i would have given a better rating EXCEPT: (1) the ending, which is amazingly unscientific (and deus ex machina) and (2), the main character appears to be a superman for no obvious reason who (3) has been written into a male wet-dream -- apparently, men are in short supply, good men even fewer, the normally-competent women are seemingly incapable of doing their best to take him to bed, even if that means a rotating schedule that gets more crowded to the end...

if this had been just a small portion of the adventure, i could have forgiven it, but it's interwoven into the main plotline on almost every page...… (mais)

Mediocre to bad

The end was disappointing. For all of the military terminology, there were fundamental errors. For instance, Marines do not use Strykers; they use LAVs. Also, a commissioned officer can simply enlist personnel, then promote them to fill needs.

Finally, the bad: the big weapon against the enemy is radio waves. This showed a fundamental lack of understanding of cosmic phenomenon. Heck, it's a failure of science...in science fiction!!!

All of this was wrapped up in wish-fulfillment prose. Superman and his harem. Magic sleep-teaching tech. Super AI computers.

Why wait 80yrs to revive the only military person left? Why wait until the nearest AI was about to fail?

I was barely hanging in there, then they deployed their super radio bombs. I cannot recommend anyone read this.… (mais)
