This came in a subscription box and it was really not the right book for me. I liked the idea of it but it was way, way, way too corny for me to enjoy.

I read this years ago, and loved the heart and humor of the story.

I've read several of this author's previous books and was thrilled to receive an early copy of this book. Initially, it may seem like the story is geared mainly toward older readers, but I think the underlying message of true love in this fun story full of unique characters, is one younger readers would enjoy too. The church group of women is trying to compete with another church in their fundraising, sick of feeling like they're the "lesser" church. Why do the old, boring, been-done-already church cookbook? Why not try, oh, let's say, cooking up new recipes that will liven up your relationship?!
While reading this book, I found myself mentally coming up with my own ABC words I felt represented all the different aspects of showing love. In her funny, quirky, humorous take on life, the author picked some ABC words I'd never have thought of, but there was a message and story behind each one.
I especially enjoyed how these women (and men) were given plenty of flaws in their relationships, mistakes to overcome, truths to be told, and issues to no longer ignore. These characters will worm their way into your heart, and you feel like you're with them having coffee, sharing secrets (some painful, some funny, some heartwarming) as they come up with a barnburner of a fundraiser!
Great story, great characters, and a great message of love and friendship!

My favorite Lorna Landvik book (so far!) I read this several years ago after it was published, have my own copy of it at home and have read it more than once. Lots of humor and heart!
