"When trust goes, how quickly love disappears and elf preservation begins."
what intrigue! So many despicable characters!
There is great character development throughout the novel and so many questions!
Patrick the grieving, remarried widower is accused of murdering his first wife. Stephanie is the oblivious, overwhelmed new mother of twins. Erica is the conniving femme fatale. This book will leave you guessing until the end!

it started off well, promising with some serious twists and turns....then it got repetitive and you could see the next twist coming from a mile away. With 30 pages left we weren't thinking "who-dun-it", we were thinking "are we done yet?"

Docked it for poor writing. Eesh.
Story was decent. But the writing just tanked it for me.

They don't speak as William walks her to her car parked behind the motel; they never leave their cars out front, where they might be recognized. No one will ever know they were hear. At least, this is what they tell themselves, what they have told themselves every time over the last few months as their affair kindled, burned brightly. But now it has been abruptly snuffed out. By her. He didn't see it coming.
