Emil Liers (–1975)

Several beaver kits were born underneath a fallen tree in Wisconsin, their mother was named Haloka, which was the Ojibway word for dear. Haloka
makes friends with a beaver named,Akella { which meant "Leader" in the Ojibway language} and they had so many adventures......but one day they
got caught.

From third to fifth grade, I probably read this book half a dozen times. I just loved it,! I didn't know until now, though, that the stories were true! I'm so disappointed I can't add a physical copy to my library today.
