He participated in the Bay of Pigs operation and later directed commando raids against the Castro dictatorship. He retired from the CIA in 1971.

This is a great book about the Bay of Pigs. It is written by one of the few Americans involved in the Bay of Pigs. It is a blow by blow account of the disaster and the author does critique Arthur M. Schlesinger throughout the book which I don't 100% agree with. However I did like this book because it was a first hand account and it was easy reading at that!
