Tracy Peircy and Lisa Maxwell’s

As the sole bread winner for my family very once in a while I fall prey to the anxieties that accompany feeding and housing a family of four on a teacher’s salary. It is times like these that I tend to turn to the latest “money-self-help” book that crosses my path. The most recent release from Westbow Press is Tracy Peircy and Lisa Maxwell’s The Death by Money Report: The Cause of Money Stress And How a $10 Solution Can Save Your Financial Life

According to the author’s the real cause of financial anxiety isn’t a lack of money, and the cure isn’t less spending, more savings or complicated investment strategies. In this book, which is better label an essay as it can be read in about a half an hour, Piercy and Maxwell outline how you can transform your money situation. They try to steer their readers away from what they consider out-dated financial thinking.

All in all, this book was not very useful. They take two-thirds of the book talking about our dire current economic situation and how our personal views around money have in large part fed the problem. The remaining third details seven steps to start you on the right track. Unfortunately most of the steps revolve around becoming a member of their subscriber-only website. I felt as though I was reading a really long advertisement rather than a book on helping you improve your relationship with money.
