This volume is a collection of quotes and notes from the official and unofficial squadron diaries of No.1 (401) Fighter Squadron, RCAF. Initially designated No.1 by the RAF, this all Canadian squadron was renamed 401 when the RAF decided that to avoid confusion, they would rename Canadian squadrons in the 400's.
While the entries are from official diaries, they contain a surprising amount of off the cuff comments, many humourous and sarcastic. Although the entries are brief and succinct, they make surprising interesting reading. An entertaining read with a fair amount of ironic humour. If you're really a fan of planes, Mosquito's, WWII etc. there's mot much to learn. Just an irreverent personal history of one man's war. A really quick 178 page read.
