A bit disjointed at times. I liked that the main character did not fall in love with her best friend. I liked the Montana cowgirl. Just a bit choppy. Good story line.

Not sure exactly what I was expecting, but this was definitely different than it.

It's the story of a group of women who want to go on a journey in Montana to see a beautiful place near the Continental Divide. Unfortunately along the way they run into trouble, really, really bad trouble.

I was a little surprised by how the trouble was introduced in the story. But once I got used to how the two stories flowed around each other it was interesting interplay.

My favourite part of the novel, though, was all the different characters and their widely varied relationships with each other, not to mention how those relationships changed during the book. It made the entire novel so different and intriguing.

I got this ARC through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.

It is so weird. I seem to read so many of these lesbian romances and they center around those women who train or ride (or both) horses.

This was another one. It's about two women, Margaret and Rachel. Rachel owns a ranch where she also raises and trains horses. Margaret is the new large animal vet that takes over the care of Rachel's animals. At first Rachel isn't sure whether it'll work. But of course, since it is a romance book, they slowly find their way towards each other. Another part of the plot is Rachel getting ready for a race with her horse called Tevis. Will she be ready and get to participate? Can she win?

Some of the stuff during the race itself dragged a little, and at a different point in the story it got quite preachy about a certain topic which totally yanked me from the narrative.

Still, most of the horse stuff was awesome, and I really liked the secondary characters like Kate, Mollie, and Jane. And loved how they came in and out of Margaret and Rachel's life just like they would in real life.

I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.

I had never heard the saying that is the title of this book, and so I had only a vague idea of what the book was going to be about (although I really liked the cover and it did clue me in that there might be some horses in the book). I was happily surprised that the novel turned out to be quite the mystery.

Miles is a Rancher in Wyoming who has to watch her girlfriend Jane go home to Vermont. They do their best at a long distance relationship. but when Miles has a little down time on the ranch she takes a two week vacation to visit Jane (and also make sure that a woman named Georgia who's having some trouble isn't wooing Jane).

While she's there, Miles, along with Jane and Jane's best friend Victoria get very, very caught up in the mystery of who killed a rider named Megan who was a part of Georgia's horse barn/facility.

I liked the mystery. It wasn't super twisty or complicated, but it was solidly plotted and kept me guessing just a little.

My biggest problem with the novel was that I felt like I was already knee deep in the story on the first page of the book. I did eventually mostly catch up with some of what had happened in a previous book, but, it was a weird way to start the novel.

Oh, and the end. Oh man oh man the end.
