"having David McTaggart in your life was like living in the path of a tornado. Before you knew it, your life had been turned upside down and inside out, and by the time you caught your breath, he had moved on to something else."

"the man who could persuade almost anyone to do almost anything."

At the beginning of 1980, not by accident, David McTaggart showed up on my doorstep and proceeded to enlist me to become the first Executive Director of Greenpeace USA. Why he picked me I will never truly know, but once he had made that decision I never had a chance. We were all pawns on his personal/global chessboard, and I've no doubt that I fit the bill of someone whom would pose no threat and ultimately do his bidding. He in Europe; me in San Francisco.
If you are reading this review, then you are contemplating the reading of this autobiography or have already read it. David was definitely a force to be reckoned with; definitely a flawed and ruthless man. He took no prisoners and many that crossed his path became necessary collateral damage.
There was no human more passionate, more determined, more Machiavellian than David. He actually had nine lives and used them all up. Our time together was very short-lived but memorable for me. It was quite the roller coaster ride. I'm glad we crossed dramatic paths.
