Pre Group Discussion em Book Discussion : The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer (Agosto 2016)

To be honest, this was the best book I ever picked from a charity shop. It definitely brought me out of my reading slump despite taking half a year to read (I’m slow). However taking it on a trip definitely brought me back to it.

I loved the plot and didn’t expect the third member of The Three to be who it was. Wes overall was someone I fell in love with. Boyle on the other hand confused me with the random pieces of info thrown into the story.

Would defo recommend this to anyone who loves a mystery/Political type book.… (mais)

An interesting read, though I felt the author padded a bit to get those 400 pages. A fair amount of primary sources, but often it is only one mention in a diary, letter or newspaper that supports some inkling of info on the conspiracy. Gives a real sense of what it must have been like to be living in America, with your Governor on a warship in the harbor and your army in charge.Washington, as always, comes across as a magnificent individual, though his insecurities are truthfully depicted

I was glad to see this book end, but WTH? When I reached the last page, I was certain that there was more to come. Come on, that couldn't REALLY be the last page. I feel cheated. Whomever it was that told Brad Meltzer he could tell a good story, well, they LIED. I know he set it up for a sequel at the end, but he could've went about it in a MUCH better way. And what the hell with all the weird character names? If he was trying to make a character by giving them a memorable name, he did the exact opposite for me. I won't remember these odd names at all, other than the fact that they were odd. I will NOT be reading another book by him, EVER. The book gets two stars from me, because there were times during the book that I was curious as to what happened next. But then, sure enough, it just got silly.… (mais)
