This story is about two hoop dancers that fall in love, but also experience loss. This book is a great way to introduce Native American culture and folklore. The flute player has a "message" that he sends to a girl. The people in the village wonder if the noise is the wind, trees or a flute. In the end the love story takes a turn for the worse.
