Lisa Mighetto

I read this for the sake of research, and found it to be an interesting albeit short book. There are a lot of books out there on the Yukon Gold Rush, but this one is very specific in its focus on how Seattle advertised itself as the gateway city and how that created the modern metropolis. The book is filled with ads of the period as well as photographs of key buildings. It's heavy on footnotes as well, which I appreciate.
