This is sort of a blast from my past as, back in the day, I purchased the magazines "Wings" and "Airpower" on a regular basis and this book is another product of the responsible company. So why didn't I buy the book then? Well, I had this sneaking suspicion that it had already been cannibalized out for the magazines. You know something? I was right.

Still, a lot of material within actually does hold up quite well, particularly the consideration of how US military aviation responded to the "battleplane" concept of multi-engine/multi-seat/multi-purpose aircraft that was in vogue back in the Thirties. Clean up the layout a bit, add some material dealing with observation planes, and this would still be a useful book.… (mais)
