Angel Moore

This is from the now defunct Love Inspired Historical line. (Love Inspired continues but they discontinued the Historical line.) I received it from a friend who sent it to me after she'd read it. I'll pass it on to a different friend to see if her mother wants to read it.

We don't see much of the Crofts (who own the general store) but in a sense they reminded me a bit of the Olesons in the TV series "Little House on the Prairie" with a wife who likes to gossip/spread "information" and a husband who is kinder and more helpful.

I find it annoying that a man going in to a burning building to save a woman inside is what causes Lily's reputation to be threatened. (Because according to the town busybody, Lily must have been entertaining him in her room in order for him to have noticed the fire.)

I do like that Edward is willing to care for his niece though I don't think the parents should have left her behind when they moved in the first place. (Of course, I didn't live in that time and travel was more difficult and possibly more dangerous then than it is now, so perhaps it was the right thing to do for that time.) I'm glad he recognizes her need for a woman's touch in her life. It was harder for me to accept that he didn't want to tell her about her parents and that they might not come back.… (mais)
