RGG: Essays wrapped in a memoir. Intense, explicit coming-of-age story as a Black gay man in an impoverished violent setting.

I listened to the audiobook and found the story an enlightening look into a young African-American man's life as he deals with the challenges of family, race, and his sexuality.

A sometimes interesting look at what it was like to grow up black and gay in Camden, NJ in recent decades. Has more than a few blindspots, but is at times enlightening to those of us who have no experience with what the author describes. I would rate this 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 for this review.
