Ehh. This is an easy read that is relatively free from controversy. I think the points could have been made in far fewer pages, and it wasn't a long book. I shy away from the idea of "claiming" obscure Biblical promises for myself, but I don't think this crosses any lines of orthodoxy. It's not a bad book, and it takes no time at all to read, but there are much better options out there.*

*The best book I've ever read on the subject of raising children is Douglas Wilson's "Future Men." If you haven't read it, you'd be much better served starting there than with this book. With respect to the topic of "cultural decline," I'd suggest starting with Neil Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death," and following that up with Michael Horton's "Christless Christianity."… (mais)
