Dare You Forever (Brothers of Ink and Steel Novella… por Allie Juliette Mousseau
This is a fun and romantic read - money and imagination are a killer combination. I have trouble with the idea that a fantastic scavenger hunt can reach the same result as months or years of therapy (but putting that aside, cause hey, it's fiction.)
I enjoyed this whole series. My only disappointment with this book is how much it glosses over the time and pain it takes to deal with PTSD. Thank god, it does suggest that it requires more than just "true love", but it would have made the whole story more real for me to see a few episodes of what they try, rather than just a sentence or two of lists.
The first time I read this book, I was a bit disappointed because the characters came across as less developed and complex. However, the plot is enough of a pressure cooker to put the relationship on an accelerated pace and Ryder has spent a lot of time stripping down his life, so it isn't too jarring. However, I found the quality of the editing in this one to be more distracting than others in the series, a lot of missing words and odd choices that interfered with my ability to get lost in the story.… (mais)
I love this story! Although it still happens quickly, I love that there is some give and take between between the protagonists that feels more like a real relationship and less like, "one look and I KNEW they were the one". It's funny and sweet and plot is engaging and believable - there are challenges in the world that aren't gun fights and horror. I look forward to more like this!
