Very cute story with a healthy dose of mystery, two great guys, and some fun plays on the differences between Billy, an American man and "scruffy guest" and Jake, a British bloke who recently moved to LA. As for the ending? That truly came somewhat out of left field even though there had been a few hints about where this might go. Hints, I might add, that were completely missed by slightly blue-eyed Jake. His total lack of getting any of what was going on with and around Billy increased my enjoyment of the final reveal even more.

Jake is a concierge who is happy to have a job at a 5-star hotel, if it weren't for the recent breakup with his boyfriend, another staff member and cheater of the first degree. When one of the demanding guests starts coming on to Jake he hesitates at first, but Billy, that turns out to be his name, is just too good-looking and fun to resist. He's also very secretive. But since Jake falls for him hook, line, and sinker, there isn't really much point in resisting. Jake is wonderfully naive, and when he finally does realize what Billy's "secret" is, he is stunned.

If you like stories where you are aware of what is going on before the main character understands, if you enjoy seeing him fumble a little and be bowled over by the final realization, and if you're looking for a read that is as hot as it is sweet, then you will probably like this short story.
