Britain's first heavyweight all-in wrestling champion, a title he held from 1930 to 1935. He became the European heavyweight champion in 1932. A colourful character, he also organised trips following the history of Lorna Doone by R. D. Blackmore. He died in Devon in 1987.

In this little booklet we are presented with the culmination of one man's sixty years' obsession with 'Lorna Doone'; in which this self proclaimed 'Doonaphile' has painstakingly tracked down all the evidence pertaining to the story. Be prepared for conspiracies abound; but their is also some very well thought out and logical conclusions to help settle the many myths and urban legends surrounding the Doone saga. Finally, at the back of the book there is a very clear hand drawn map showing you all the locations from the book enabling any Doonaphile the opportunity to walk in Lorna's footsteps.
What makes this booklet ideal to me is that it is thin enough to slip within my own copy of Lorna Doone by Blackmore. A nice companion read to the book.
