This book is adorable! Karen Ritz obviously understands cats, and she captures a dislocated feline's feelings perfectly, with her simple, straightforward text. As for her illustrations, they are absolutely delightful, depicting this pretty kitty's playful antics (he likes to hide in boxes, and to swat his boy, when he wants attention, and the boy is too distracted by reading), and his moments of distress. I particularly identified with the cat's enjoyment of the windows, which are called "Kitty TV" in my house, due to our cat's fascination with the antics of the squirrels in the tree just outside. I think that young children, who are moving themselves, will find comfort in this tale of a beloved pet who successfully adjusts to his new home. They will also be reminded, if they have animals of their own, that their pets will also be struggling to find their feet in a new environment. Highly recommended!… (mais)
