This was really great and informative about the experiences of cadet nurses during WW2. Lots of pictures and details.

Excellent book. The author interviewed 19 Nisei women who entered the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. Their stories are compelling - many joined the Cadet Nurse Corps as a way out of the internment camps. It was difficult for many to find nursing schools who would accept them, but some Catholic Schools did. Once in the school, many encountered few prejudices, although most encountered some.

I strongly recommend this work to every nurse and to anyone with an interest in WW II,… (mais)
