This book is a story based on a real life serial killer. But the root of the book is about one girl’s quest to save her sister.

It's the era of peace and love in the 1960s, but nothing is peaceful in Caroline's life. Since her beautiful older and troubled sister disappeared, fifteen-year-old Caroline might as well have disappeared too. She's invisible to her parents, who can't stop blaming each other. The police keep following up on leads Caroline thinks are foolish. The only one who seems to care about her is Tony, her sister's boyfriend, who soothes Caroline's desperate heart every time he turns his magical blue eyes on her. Tony has convinced Caroline that the answer to Jess's disappearance is in California.

This was a hold your breath novel. Wow!

HALF IN LOVE WITH DEATH takes place in the 60's but in truth that hardly matters, it could be anyplace anytime. Kids everywhere, at any time, will always wish (at least deep down) to be considered 'cool'..
This is a book about teenage yearnings, family, the attraction of 'bad boys' and mostly about one girls desire to do right by her missing older sister.
Written for any age group really, but a book that should be in every jr. high and high school library!
My only critique, the one thing that keeps this book from getting 5 stars is the ending....good but could have been better....slightly disappointing. OVERALL tho- 4.5 stars.… (mais)
