General reflections on the Virgin Mary's power and influence. The article by Fr. Raymond, C.S.C. is more concrete by reference to Fr Peyton and Notre Dame de Chartres. Joseph Campbell is quoted as saying that Chartres is the "parish church of the world," Gerald Manley Hopkins saying Mary is the "air we breathe."
