Gerri Russell has done it all when it comes to writing; she's worked as a broadcast journalist, newspaper reporter, magazine columnist, technical writer and editor, instructional designer, which all finally led her to follow her heart's desire of being a romance novelist. Gerri's mastered the art of multi-tasking as a writer, mother of three teens, and weight management consultant where she motivates and inspires others to reach for their dreams. In her spare time, Gerri is a living history re-enactor with the Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire. A two-time recipient of the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart award, she lives in Bellevue, Washington with her husband and children.

Enchanted by the Highlander by Gerri Russell
Story starts out with Rosalyn and she's being physically abused by James. When her brother finds out he insists she marries the English Captain James so he can get on with his life. She's lived with him for years. She is part English and part Scottish. She takes off with an escort and is rescued by Keiran who is part MacLeod and he takes her back to his family’s castle but not after having saved her life. She has wounds to prove it.
Keiran states he will protect her now. The women of the castle are also friendly as actually show her how to protect herself with various weapons at her disposal.
She also teaches Keiran how to read, it's the least she can do.
There are other aspects of this story because Keiran is from the fairy land, having been abducted when he was young. The God there sped up his years and he missed so much of his younger years.
There are so many threats to the clan, from the English and from the fairy God.
Things just get worse for them as other tragic things occur leaving some in the open to be taken.
Such a great read, love these stories. Love the travel, romance, customs, action, strategies, politics, mystery, action and adventure and so much more. Something for everyone.
Received this review copy from the publisher and this is my honest opinion.

A Little Highland Magic by Gerri Russell
This story starts out when Pearl and Aria show up in the real world and ask for help.
Like that I can follow along as I've read the other books in the series. Author fills in the missing pieces if you have not read the previous books.
Love that others stand up for them and they find a way to make it possible for Aria to remain in the human world.
She has insights from her fairy life but they aren't as accurate in the human world... Such a great look into the fairy world where they go up against the leader...
Great detailed descriptions, I can see myself with them on the journey.
Never saw the outcome as such, who made it out of fairy world.
Can't wait to read more, they are being written now!
Adult situations.

Isolde is banished from her clan's lands when she injures her sister-in-law and brother. She lives in the wilderness until she is injured saving Orrick and his men. He takes her back to his clan's lands where she is not welcomed by all. She heals. She is a warrior so when the men leave the castle and the English attack, she fights the English off. When the truth comes out, Orrick and his clan accept her. When she returns to her brother's lands, she is kidnapped by the English. Will Orrick be able to rescue her? Will her clan accept her? Will her brother?

I enjoyed this story. I liked how the clans are depicted and how they must fight the English as well as other clans. It was interesting to see how the clans negotiated with each other. I liked how Isolde learned so much on her own so she was able to help her niece. While I was no fan of her brother, he does learn to accept and appreciate Isolde. I loved how Isolde and Orrick are able to strengthen each other. Because of Isolde's faith in Orrick, he is able to become the warrior he was meant to be.

I look forward to reading more of this series and this author.

To Claim His Highland Bride by Gerri Russell
This story starts out with Rowena and she wants to wed Marcus but he's a rival clan but her brothers’ like him and they see how they treat her.
He's heading off in the only thing he owns, his ship to gain some wealth and plans to head back to take her as his own.
Problems arise on the high seas and he loses a lot of men but has the treasure. His cousin has kidnapped Rowen when he returns and he is able to get her back. Rowena is part fairy and gets help from seals and other mystical things.
The cousin then kidnaps his parents and Marcus sees to that solution also.
The couple get married and she has ulterior motives-she wants an adventure then she can get an annulment and live peacefully at the family castle til her dying days.
He takes her up on the adventure as he sails the next day with her and his crew to find more treasure. He needs to repay others families for their losses before he can even think about his life.
Love the action, adventure, romance and the high seas and living on a ship and in the castle.
Rivalry continues on the voyage and love hearing of the upcoming treasure and where it's to be located.
About the author and her other works are summarized at the end along with historical events.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
