Unless you're really into papal history, and willing to settle for less, by all means read it. I for one found the title misleading, the content tougher to chew than a boiled owl, and I'm certain there are better books out there for this very specified, historically-minded bit of Catholicism.
The book didn't make as big of an impact on me as a reader and educator as I had hoped. Couldn't really recall what I had read after reading it. Also the book is written more for American educators (fair enough)in the American school system. Thought it could have been more general where it was too specific (audience) and too general where it should have been more specific (pedagogy). AL
