This read more to me like an excuse not to cope or to try new things or change habits and behaviors. And some of it sounds like sensory issues.
Ilse Sand has quickly become one of my favourite authors. This book has a lot of great insights, yet it doesn't come across as preachy. Highly recommended!

As a highly sensitive person who frequently attracts people's confessions and complaints, I constantly get shrouded in secondhand negative emotions. This book has actually helped me in changing my mindset and coping with other people's problems.
