Moselio Schaechter

Moselio "Elio" Schaechter is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Tufts University School of Medicine, where he served as chain of the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology from 1970 to 1993. Schaechter's research focused on bacterial growth physiology and the relationship between the mostrar mais chromosome and the bacterial cell membrane and has earned him numerous awards. He has collaboratively authored many papers and textbooks, including both editions of Microbe (ASM Press 2006, 2016). He served as president, of both the American Society for Microbiology and the Association of Medical School Microbiology and Immunology Chairs.
