After working for various architecture firms in the U.S., Daniel traveled to Tokyo, Japan where he now works as an English teacher and an author/illustrator. And just like his character, Mr. Elephant, Daniel sometimes feels a bit clumsy and big and forgetful. . . Fortunately, he always feels at home with his wife and two young children. His second book, Come Back Soon-ISBN: 0618694943 was just published Sept. 2009.

Schallau specializes in intricately drawn color pencil ink pen illustrations of worlds inhabited by elephants, penguins, whales, bears, snowmen, rabbits, and more.
