This workship will use elements from the AWA method described in WRITING ALONE AND WITH OTHERS by Pat Schneider, and has been adapted worldwide to groups of writers and non-writers to build individual skill, creativity, and to nurture writing voice and craft. Annie will write along with the group to create a safe, honest, and non-hierarchical space for new work. Accomplished and beginning writers learn from one another in a generous atmosphere of both critical craft and personal respect for the value of every voice. Please join us!

Praised as a “fuse lighter” by author Julia Cameron and “the wisest teacher of writing I know” by the celebrated writing guru Peter Elbow, Pat Schneider has lived a life of writing and teaching, passion and compassion. Schneider was instrumental in the creation of both the New York Writers Coalition and the Women of Color Writers Workshop, as well as hundreds of other writing groups around the world. With How the Light Gets In, she delves beyond the typical “how-to’s” of writing to gracefully guide readers through the artistic and spiritual questions that life offers to everyone. Greenlight is proud to partner with the New York Writers Coalition and the Women of Color Writers Workshop to host a reading and signing with Schneider, followed by a wine and cheese reception.
