Musica Brasileira: A History of Popular Music and… por Claus Schreiner
A well-researched and ambitious guide to Brazilian musical history, although rather dull reading. Its coverage of music after the 1970s is rather weak. For a more entertaining and up-to-date guide, I would recommend [The Brazilian Sound: Samba, Bossa Nova and the Popular Music of Brazil].
