Image: Interesting clock images. Construction: I normally think highly of Ravensburger but this "soft click" puzzle was not great. I bought this puzzle secondhand and it was in very good condition. The cut is a grid format. The pieces were constructed weakly and often could not be separated without pulling apart the edges; and they also did not hold together well enough to move small sections in place.

The Book of Shadowboxes: A Story of the ABC's por Laura L. Seeley

This was a favorite of all three of my kids, and unlike most alphabet-centered picture books, it has a long shelf life. While the short, good-natured poems are quite readible, it is the intricate illustrations (which hide many, many, many images of items that start with the letter in question) that really sets this book apart.

The Magical Moonballs por Laura L. Seeley

I like the illustrations in this book and the story is written in verse. I like this book, but for some reason I just don't think it's as good as it could have been. Once I got past the fact that these moonballs came from the moon after it sneezed (moon snot... or not) and I liked the premise that these moonballs were coming to earth to spread smiles and happiness. Only they come and spread all this happiness to inanimate objects... which would be ok I guess if they were move lovable inamimate objects than the chimney and plates and spoons and toothbrushes and even the toilet. But again the illustrations were charming and the verse very well written. It just didn't make my son say "that was a good book" when we were done reading.… (mais)
