Very interesting "behind the scenes" book about the liberation of Palestine and surrounding area from The Ottomann empire by the British in 1917. I thought i knew a lot about this perid but dicoveredd much fresh information including:-
How Allenby used mobile warfare tactics unlike on Western Fromt succesfully. One of few areas where this worked on large scale in First world war.
How the jews helped the Bristissh war aims leading to Balfour declaration and eventually to the State of Israel.
How important was the work of NILI both for British war effort and for future State of Israel.
How initially Faisal and the Arabs saw the jews as allies- for thhere own reasons they wanted British Mandadate to be set up.Similalrily Pro-Arab Laurence was not Anti- Jewish
