Joseph Sobran together with Antonin Scalia and Sam Francis and Kevin MacDonald and Victor Davis Hanson was the great voice of conservative white America until his passing in 2010. Rather than attempt to encapsulate and explain Mr. Sobran's incisive intellect it is best just to let him speak for himself on the subject of America, Americans, and, in this book, their relationship to Christianity.

The low birth rate in America suggests that our citizenry would rather be children than have them. Our government is organized plunder and our brethren, the parasite class, is dedicated to "education". The ultimate moral test of the law is whether it performs for the profit of one citizen, and to the detriment of others, an act which the citizen could not perform himself without being guilty of a crime. There is no such thing as a new morality - there is only the eternal one, sometimes called the Natural Law. Moral innovation is the way to political tyranny. Our rulers have become owners. One of the State's most ominous features is its claim to authority over education: every child's mind is its property; and it will decide how that mind will be formed, what attitudes shall be implanted and eradicated, without respect to the Tao.

Before Gutenberg Christianity had been sacramental as opposed to scriptural. St. Paul never referred to the scriptures as the Bible. Jesus never told his disciples to write anything - he told them to preach, to baptize, and to communicate by recreating the Last Supper. He said take and eat, not take and read. The Protestant Bible lacks seven books still worshipped by the great mass of the world's Christians.

The Catholic Church always presents a consistent morality while the Protestants veer off into moral fads: sodomy, homosexual marriage, and contraception. The so-called reforms almost always have to do with sex and reproduction. No one asks the Church to change its teachings about sloth. The Catholic Church is the mother of western civilization and is blamed for many things, but, thanked for nothing.

What about the tenth amendment? The federal government just ignores it because most everything the liberals want to do is unconstitutional. The federal government has no power except for what is specifically given to it in the constitution - yeah, right. Most federal legislation from the New Deal forward has been unconstitutional. Liberalism is dependent upon the continued usurpation of power by the federal government. The State is really nothing but a criminal enterprise writ large. The US Constitution has been dead since 1865. The essence of the state is its legal monopoly of force.

Regretting the white man's arrogance need not mean idealizing the conquered natives. The sexual revolution promised felicity based upon indulgence but the result has been divorce, disease, anxiety, heartbreak, crime, and an explosion of illegitimacy. Lust and violence are eternal partners.

Civil rights are just a means to increased state power to dictate private association. They have resulted in neither more freedom nor racial equality, but only more tyranny and bitterness. We do not have a color blind society we have a race-obsessed one. The welfare state did not lift people out of poverty it merely habituated them to it, while burdening the general population. Racial differences have proved to be stubbornly irremovable, but, the liberals tell us that is due to racism so that even more power to the state over private relations and property is necessary.

Liberals single out sex as a privileged moral precept where normal moral thinking does not apply. Liberalism has become the hypocrisy of pretending we don't know good from evil. For the liberals God himself is a tyrant (not including Allah, of course) and this explains liberals indifference to the persecution of Christians, the untold story of the 20th Century.

Stop demanding that your opponents reach your conclusions from their premises.

And so it goes.

A strong case of circumstantial evidence proving who really wrote Shakespeare,i.e., the 17th Earl of Oxford.

Readers familiar with Sobran only as an anti-Israeli polemicist and pedlar of conspiracy theories will see a new side of his idiotarianism in this rehash of anti-Stratfordian orthodoxy bolstered by inept literary analysis. My review is at http://stromata.tripod.com/id116.htm
