This moving short doled out much more than I expected. Shea has always taken the safe route through life except for this one night when he broke into the old cabin his family used to own. Once inside the cabin he comes face to face with Jamie. Jamie, an aspiring writer, plays the sarcastic tough but seems to be running from something I'm guessing by the scars on his legs. Shea is finishing up his degree in Humanities and Jamie gave up on his Humanities degree. I liked these two main characters a lot for the amount that I got to know them. Their special bond of trust and understanding, though quickly formed, surprised and touched me. There were no promises for a forever together just a let's wait and see what time brings.… (mais)

An idyllic weekend with Jamie leaves Shea's life feeling empty and purposeless. A knock on his door brings Shea out of his funk, Jamie is there to visit. Breaking all of his rules, Jamie lowers his guard and begins to feel comfortable. This was a nice, sweet sequel to Wanderlust as the two young lovers hit the road together.

While I thought this book had a lot of potential. It lacked on some though. I guess the relationship between Morgan and Kai bothered me because on some points I thought that they were falling for each other but I had this image of Morgan being a whole lot older and it was just strange. Interesting read though!

As the description says, this was a sweet Christmas story. It’s also more than that. It’s a quick romantic read for those who might not see much of the joy in the holiday season, like Kai.

It didn’t take me very long to read the story, but it’ll stick with me for a while. I grew to enjoy the characters and can see that more can be written about them and the small town of Coville they live in. I would pick up another story from Stone, like this one. The town is charming and the way the relationship between characters developed was felt natural, not forced as sometimes is the case in short stories.

I would have liked it even more if there was a little more revealed about the characters’ pasts, but this didn’t take away from the story. I was only intrigued from what I found out about their histories that I was left thinking about specifics.

For a story that takes place in the cold month of December in a snowy town, it was a pleasant warming read that I felt was a perfect fit for me right now.
