Maybe I'm just feeling cynical tonight, or maybe my expectations for this were too high.  But early on, when we meet the other porcupines, they accuse Elliot of being weird, and make truly disgusting faces to mock him.  That just turned me off and I couldn't enjoy the rest of the story as much as some of you might.  Then again, it's rather predictable, and I'm pretty sure I don't recommend you hunt it down, anyway.

I would use this book for kindergarten and first graders to teach the importance of being kind to one another. It is about a porcupine who just wants someone to hug, but no one will. At the end he finds another porcupine friend who will hug him. It teaches you do not have to change the person you are.

Hug Me is a cute book about a porcupine who wants to hug someone but cant because of his quils. Elliott finds another porcupine to hug in the end. Its a cute story for 1st-2nd grade. I liked this book as a child.
