If you are interested in figures, charts and ratios...this is the book for you. If you are not particularly into the numbers, it is still interesting to skim the charts for trends and how the war for material developed during the war. As for the text, the most interesting section for me was Part IV Coalition Warfare. Discussed here were the efforts of the British and French to stop the Americans from winning the war. If the American could claim credit for bringing the war to a successful conclusion, Wilson would be dominant during the peace conference. Wilson's dominance could preclude Britain and France from obtaining their territorial and financial ambitions. By adjusting strategy during 1918, Foch tried to lessen the apparent contribution of Pershing. To some extent Foch was successful. I found the work very enlightening.… (mais)
