This is an absolutely beautiful book that draws you in with it's simplistic beauty but once you open it, it's a wonderful, complex devotional that helps you find navigate the changes of life that inevitably come our way.

Leeana shares personal stories that draw you in and help you to realize that we all face struggles and difficulties, however, God is with us and will help us through these times when we aren't sure how to move forward.

This book has been especially helpful and comforting to me as I have been recently diagnosed with cancer and each day holds some new difficulty and fear.

Each day starts with a quote and then a short devotional that is thought provoking. Then begins my favorite part...the question and answer section. There are one or two short questions and lines where we can record our thoughts. I love when devotions have this because it makes it so much more personal and helps me to really work through things in my mind.

I love how Leeana points us back to God's Word again and again for our answers in this life. Her writing is beautiful and poignant and I absolutely adored this book! I highly recommend it, especially for your quiet time and especially if you find yourself going through a difficult season. I give it 5 stars.

Always We Begin Again is a powerful reminder of carrying on and persevering through the hard. Containing 100 daily devotionals, Tankersley reminds us to remain true and not let our hard days define us. Some of the MANY powerful reminders within include:

Recognizing how we think, talk about and talk to our dear friends versus how we think, talk about and talk to ourselves. Why are we so quick to beat ourselves up, but reassure and lift up our friends?“No matter how beautiful and epic and glorious life is right now, the sun goes down. And no matter how ugly and rejecting and hurtful life is right now, the sun comes up,” (p. 118). The day begins again, tough things happen, but like the sun we will set and rise again.Your issues are NOT your identity – you are not the abuse, anxiety, depression or infertility you experience. Sometimes we forget this as they overwhelm and take over our lives.

Tankersley speaks from experience as she herself is currently in a “messy middle,” going through her own divorce and anxieties she provides readers exercises, reminders and encouragement, reminding us all that we can “Always Begin Again.”

I purchased this book from Christian Books clearance rack. Leanna takes you with her through her testimony of Navy life, with children. That's not to say that you have to relate exactly in any way to get a kick out of this book. Who hasn't struggled with change and constantly having to be flexible?! For me, a suburban house mom, I found myself giggling and saying, "Yes, girl!" out loud in restaurants and waiting rooms. I'd definitely recommend this to a mom friend. Actually, I paid it forward by giving my copy to our military spouses group leader at church.
