A good introduction which includes a long explanation of Haitian history, mostly unfamiliar to Americans. Guide to basic ritual structure, the terminology, different groups of Lwa's, and types of magic. Includes suggestions on locating a group, questions to ask, things to beware of. The author is an American who has traveled to Haiti for study and initiations.
A great source of information for the outsider or extreme beginner. Her facts are well layed out and to the point. Her history is well researched and the book is well written and easy to follow. Would definitely recommend this to anyone curious to know more on the subject.
