Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own for Usborne. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.

Oh wat ben ik dol op deze reeks. Elk boekje is een schot in de roos, eentje om verliefd op te worden.

Ik ben ongeveer 40 jaar ouder dan het doelpubliek en toch spaar ik ze allemaal. Het is een leuk voorlees- en kijkboek. De illustraties zijn grappig, schattig en er zijn toffe doorkijkjes naar volgende pagina’s. Klinkt goed hé!?

Wel dat is nog niet alles: je kan ook naar stukjes compositie van Tsjaikovski luisteren! Gewoon door op een knopje te drukken; hoe cool is dat!? En nee, geen blikkerig kerstkaart-gejengel maar echt een mooi stukje muziek. Tof om nieuwe dingen te leren kennen, of te ontdekken dat sommige stukken al vertrouwd in de oren klinken.

Het dierenorkest speelt Tsjaikovski is een ferme aanrader: voor jong en oud, kenner en beginneling, fan van de reeks en/of van de componist.
