To be clear I only read the Leanna Renee Hieber story since that was an epilogue (of sorts) to Percy Parker's books.

Prelim review: This was a riff on Dickens' classic story "A Christmas Carol", with Jane (and a couple other familiar spirits) helping to make Rebecca and Michael see their worth and future happiness.

Fieldnotes:
1 Cornish Pisky/Accountant
2 Identical Twin Leprechaun Sidhe (but 0 Mistaken Identities) of which 1 Brooding Overprotective Hero and 1 Hedonistic Devil-May-Care Hotter than Hero Sequel-Baiting Sibling
1 Not!Vampire
1 Eeevil Druid
1 Faery Queen
1 Deck of Tarot Cards (That Work!)
Several Sets of Magical Stones
4 Very Bad Parents
2 Conjugation-Avoiding Irish Accents
1 Attempt at Sex to Unlock Your Destiny, and
1 Not!Threesome

The Short Version:
Some interesting snippets about the tarot and esoterica, but on the whole I liked the hero's twin brother much better than the hero whom I found rather judgmental. I'll keep hold of this one until I read Michael's story and decide where the series falls.

To my understanding this was the last of the Magic Knot trilogy and focuses on the nightstalker, Nightshade. The story starts as Nightshade is on his way to confront his father and demand he give up all interest in Rhys (his half brother). On the way he is smacked in the face by a bird and plummets into the bedroom of Ruby. Kind of a cute beginning which ultimately leads into a story about Ruby facing her heritage, along with other things.

Nightshade really isn't my favorite character. Too macho and I hate that he calls Ruby "woman", when he gets annoyed with her. It just rubs me the wrong way. Other than that it was entertaining enough. The writing still seems a bit juvenile, but at least the typos from the preceding novel were thankfully absent in this one.

Overall the trilogy as a whole was an okay diversion of a romance/fantasy story.

I read the first book of this trilogy some time ago so I had a bit of trouble doing catch up on what had gone on previously. However, since the characters from the first book were away for the duration of this one, it didn't matter all that much.

In this book Michael (brother of Niall, the original main character) is watching his infant twin nephews while their parents are away. Cordelia is the piskie wise woman who likes to use her magic to spy on Michael during his many trysts. Together they are accused of opening a way to the Underworld and one of the nephews is imprisoned for this transgression. It is then up to Cordelia, her kitty familiar, Tamsey, Michael, and their friend Nightstalker to go on a quest to save him.

This was a fairly interesting fantastical romance/fantasy. I did like the story, especially the familiar/cat Tamsey. I wasn't particularly wild about the other characters although I certainly didn't hate them (basically they were ok). The author's style of writing sometimes seems a bit juvenile (for an adult romance novel) and the many typographical errors were a little distracting. I had the feeling the errors may have been a result of transition between the original novel and the Kindle version, but I have no real idea.

Overall, an okay enjoyable fantasy romance. I did start the third novel "The Ruby Kiss" as I already have it downloaded.
