A decent collection of poetry based on the theme of travel on the open road, by sea, by rail, or other method. It also includes poems on coming back home. I rather enjoyed about 50 out of the 80 poems. I also learned of a few new posts to try out. I use this book as a quick poetry break to whatever longer book I was reading at the time. In this case, that would have been George Elliot's Middlenarch.

A short collection of American poets that ends in early 20th century. There are some favorites like Longfellow, Poe, Frost, T. S. Eliot, Whitman, William Carlos Williams, Wallace Stevens, and finish with W. H. Auden. I was introduced to a few poets I had not read before, but especially Edwin Arlington Robinson.

It's been so long since I read this one that I can't recall its details.

101 great American poems

The editors chose some of the best poetry ever written; not just in America. I love it, I love this book and I recommend it whether you're new to poetry or an old veteran wanting to re-read some of your favorites.
