So far only read:

~ Ribbons by Natalia Theodoridou - DNF

On Twitter, the author says: "Ribbons" (4,200 words) in Uncanny Magazine (Jan/Feb 2022) is my trans take on the green ribbon tale and one of the most personal things I've written.

I couldn't keep up. I'm not great with "fairy tales" and ambiguousness. The host of the podcast had high praise so I'm sure it's a me thing.

I believe I understand that our MC is a trans man sex worker. He is still wearing the ribbon that was applied to his neck at birth. I guess we can assume all people born with female parts have one applied. He can't remove it for fear of his head falling off. I think I understand that much at least. I'm sure there is a perfect audience for the story.… (mais)

This was a better-than-usual mix of stories to me, where I liked more of them than I had expected to. You can read most (if not all?) of the Uncanny Magazine content online, if you want to check it out; I'm glad to be a subscriber. Favorites from this issue include “The Night Dance” by Leah Cypess, “Ribbons” by Natalia Theodoridou, “How to Safely Store Your Magical Artifacts After Saving the World” by Tina Connolly, “The Haunting of Dr. Claudius Winterson” by Sarah Monette, and “The Clockwork Penguin Dreamed of Stars” by Caroline M. Yoachim.… (mais)

I lost patience. I thought I was reading a story about "when the giants" came but it may be a lgbtqia story. You have to make choices, like a choose your own adventure. Early on they ask you to pick a gf/bf/partner etc... but they don't let you choose your gender as far as I can tell but they give "you" a penis so ...

idk may come back to it.

on twitter, the author says: I have a new interactive piece about gender and intimacy during a quiet giant apocalypse in the Strange Lusts/Strange Loves issue over at strangehorizons.com

A woman who has been hurt, lives with the repercussions. She accepts who she is and is tired of boyfriends trying to save her. There is a nice twist and a lovely author's note.
-------------

Listened to a podcast version read by Jen R. Albert (Far Fetched Fables #129) and I didn't like as much.
