Eliza's Daddy tells the story of a young girl who is sad that her parent’s are divorced
and doesn’t know how to feel about the fact that her daddy has a new family, including a new daughter.
Eliza has a bad dream about her daddy's other daughter, wonders about the new daughter, and then builds up her courage to ask her daddy to visit his new home. Once she has met his other daughter, Eliza realizes that they have things in common which eases her fears. I like this book because of the realistic story it portrays of a girl dealing with divorce and would love to use it in my classroom for how relatable a story I think it is for children. I think this book is suitable for Grades K-3 with themes about family structures and the experience of fears/expectations vs. reality.… (mais)
