This is a gorgeous exhibit in a book. There is a basic text giving background on the culture and artifacts. Pictures of the environment are interspersed with the pictures of the environment. The volume includes maps and a bibliography of related books. Although this is obviously not intended as a scholarly work, I wish that the captions were a little more information, i.e., measurements, and more consistency in describing the materials.

This is a beautiful book. It combines color photographs of Southwestern arts/crafts, particularly blanket weaving, with shots of spectacular landscape. The two are drawn into one visual whole. I think it is very effective.
The book is intended as a visual experience, and there is little scholarly information about the pieces, the history of their creation, etc.
