I chose this book because after reading the summary because I wanted to see how this played out. This was one of the few stories where when the employee seduces the boss and it comes out right rather than weird or awkward.

Rob was a hot and sexy character. Rob is a Dom and takes a chance when he gets Lauren in a position to make an advance on her. I loved his take-charge attitude. Lauren was a conflicted character. While she knew what she wanted she did not want to go after it because she was the boss and wanted to be respected. To many people that comes across as a bitch when she is far from it. The chemistry between Lauren and Rob was off the charts. The sex scene was very hot and steamy. It makes you look at the copy room twice.

I wish this story was longer. Overall, at thirty-four pages this was a great story. This is the first book I have read by Piper Trace and it will not be my last. I just hope we get to see these two characters again in the future.

This was a novella that started off with Kip, the main female character, telling her story through reminisces as she drove back to her small hometown to spend Christmas alone. Kip provided all the background info needed in order to get to the heart of the problem upsetting her from her high school years since she was returning home once again. It was about 25 pages in before another character was included. Enter Dylan, her High School crush, and boy do things heat up. There was laughter, hot steamy sex and a happily ever after in the offing. As usual with novellas I felt there was a lot more story to tell and didn't realize I had reached the end until I "turned the page" on my Nook and came to the page About the Author. I would have liked to see if Kip and Dylan figured out a way to continue their relationship or not but I guess it's left to the imagination of the reader. Both characters were easy to get to know and seemed real. There was a storyline and it held my interest as well. I enjoyed the book and would read others by Trace since I haven't read books by her before.

Favorite Quote: He was single, she remembered Al mentioning, and alone-like she was-on Christmas Eve. And she did have a bottle of wine and a warm fire...until she ran out of wood, that is. She found herself growing excited at the prospect of Mr. Dalton Run Reclamation coming to visit her on that snowy night. She lost herself for a moment in a lumberjack fantasy...
