Synthesizing is made simple through this book because Polly is asking questions that can easily be used to walk students through the book. The theme is practical and the story has multiple settings that children can also make text-to-self connections, and use the visualizing strategies.

The story's plot is about a little girl who woke up to a fog and thought everything was gone. As we go along the story more and more things become clearer. This is an excellent story for synthesizing because its gets the children thinking about their thinking. The more information they get when certain areas clear up the better image they have of the farm and whats around it.
