Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success por Ivanka Trump
WTF I don't think so
While I would definitely recommend reading the material this seems to be based on [Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Dave Ramsey's Entreleadership among others], there is actually good advice and observations in this book.
I don't find a lot of it terribly applicable to me as a stay at home mom, but to say that everything in this book is trash is simply silliness given that the work philosophy it seems to primarily be based on is rather widespread. Many successful businesspeople and academics alike are fans of Covey and credit his work for bettering their lives.
The second half of the book seems to be focused on taking initiative and being proactive, being what Covey would call "response-able" or able to choose your response. It's not bad advice, but like I said, I definitely recommend reading Covey's work itself.… (mais)

Vapid derivitave clichés, but not even the good ones. I'm a sucker for craptastic self-help drivel, but this one is too empty. Go with Sandberg instead. She is also just released, and she has had actual accomplishments and challenges.
This is politics aside. I have a definite political position, but I appreciate reading well positing positions from anyone, but this book isn't about that.
