Another addition in the Neckz 'n' Throats verse. These always bring the right amount of tension with the right amount of sexy.
In this one Derek is doing some modeling for Alpha Studios, where Stiles just happens to get a summer job.

This one hit me hard. And out of nowhere. I had actually crossed it off my tbr, despite loving [b:Parallax|22607962|Parallax|uraneia|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1411745318s/22607962.jpg|42097493] by the same author, because the blurb sounded silly. For some reason after I read the blurb, I thought that it was saying Lydia turned Derek into a child - just an FYI, that is not what happens. At. All. This isn't silly, this isn't humorous. It is Stiles' angst ridden narrative reciting an extraordinarily bittersweet story. This fic is marked by silence though, and how much need for communication can avoid heartbreak. Despite that there is so much love in this story.
Here is a spoiler - for both the fic and my life. It is a warning that I think should be in the tags, but I can understand why it isn't. It is an odd thing to tag for and is a spoiler for the fic, but be prepared to have your heart strings pulled.I balled my eyes out while reading this fic. And I caution that for anyone who has ever lost a child (which is a club I unfortunately hold a card to) beware that uraneia captures some of the motions and emotions surrounding that experience rather authentically. Everything in this fic hits a little too close to home for those that have gone through this experience. Though in this fic the child does not die, but was a figment of magic and there is a happy ending. Stiles and Derek's grief is palpable - and thank goodness so is their love. (Just an FYI, I have two beautiful healthy boys now and have processed my emotions healthily, but once in a while a fic like this blind-sides me and it comes flooding back.) So heads up.
Despite that, I highly recommend this fic. Any work that can make me feel so much is five star in my book.

Stiles is home from Berkeley for the summer, but only because he promised the pack. He'd rather not see Derek, because whatever the thing was that they were doing, they're not doing it anymore, and it sucks.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have a choice. The betas tried a magical remedy for Derek's melancholy, and now Stiles has a three-year-old who looks like Derek. Stiles doesn't know how to deal with that, and he definitely doesn't know how to tell the betas he and Derek were secret fuck buddies for a year and a half.

What I have to say after my second read:
I have absolutely no idea why I gave this story four stars the first time around. It's almost four months later and I'm already giving this a second read. I've thought of this story several times since I read it, especially when reading other Sterek fanfics that can never measure up.
So full of Angst. So full of Feels. So Damn Beautiful . Five stars
