I think I would have this book as an option in my class for more emergent readers. The book does not include extensive vocabulary (other than in the glossary where it shows pictures of different types of the clouds, their names, and a description of the word) within the text. However, I think this would be a great start into getting emergent students talking about different kinds of clouds and what they could infer based on the clouds they see. The age range for this book is 3-7 and the reading level is an E. The DCI that is being explored in this book is earth and space science. The CCC that is being explored is stability and change, but I feel like that is more hinted at when talking about the different kinds of clouds versus being explicit about it.… (mais)

Make it Move! by Jennifer VanVoorst is a great book for early readers and for new English readers. The book is easy to follow especially since the pictures do a good job of explaining and providing clues to what the words state on the page. The vocabulary in the book is not too difficult except for a few words such as inclined, but other than that the majority of the words kids will have already have seen or heard before. This book would be a good book to have in your classroom especially if your students are emergent readers or multilingual students who are just starting to learn English.… (mais)
